The Cactus Cuties were honored to receive an invitation to open up for the legendary Oak Ridge Boys at their concert in Lubbock, Texas. About a year ago, Oak Ridge Boy Duane Allen viewed the Cactus Cuties’ YouTube video of the National Anthem and suggested they be booked at The National Anthem Project in Washington D.C.!!! The Cuties were grateful for the wonderful experience of performing with the President’s Own Marine Band in front of the U.S. Capitol building and had been in contact with Mr. Allen throughout the year, but had never met face to face. When The Oak Ridge Boys’ management called to officially book the Cuties as opening act for The Oak Ridge Boys, they were delighted!!!! They arrived at the City Bank Auditorium on Sunday, June 21st at 5:00 pm for sound-check. The sound was great and the Cuties were warmly received by the band and crew. The Cuties loved meeting and hanging backstage with The Oak Ridge Boys, Mr. Duane Allen, Mr. Joe Bonsall, Mr. William Lee Golden, and Mr. Richard Sterban!!! The Cuties worked up the chorus of “Bobbie Sue” and had the privilege of singing it backstage for the Oak Ridge Boys! The guys loved it and even filmed the Cuties for their official Oak Ridge Boys YouTube channel. At showtime, the Cuties gave high fives to Mr. Allen and took the stage performing The National Anthem and The Battle Hymn of the Republic to open the show. The Cuties had a blast watching the incredible Oak Ridge Boys Concert and then joined them for the curtain call and singing of the final number, Amazing Grace. The Cuties would never forget their time with The Oak Ridge Boys and were so thankful for their new friends!!!!!

This was possibly a meeting between current legends and future legends IMO! Great story and great pictures as usual. Was cool to see all the fun they had. The Cuties version of Bobby Sue was neat! Your You Tube videos from this concert were awesome and the Cuties singing Battle Hymn of the Republic was incredible as always! Very very moving performance! The Cactus Cuties are the best!!! Thanks for the new blog update and God bless you all!

The Cuties proved very worthy of the cause!! Their performance was nothing less than awe inspiring! The Oak Ridge Boys were obviously impressed with the talent and genuiness of the girls. The boys were chamed into Cutificaton without doubt. I can see The Cactus Cuties and the Oak Ridge Boys being fast friends for many years to come, despite the age differences, they share so much in common it just seems like a natural happening. It is heartwarming to see a great relationship starting! As ALWAYS ladies, you make us so proud to be your fans!

I still can’t get over how wonderful all of you are! The singing of Bobby Sue was fantastic!!! I would love to have a CD of you young ladies singing it. I have seen the Oak Ridge Boys up here in Buffalo, when I Engineered a local Country Music Station. They are great to listen to, but with you girls joining in, it had to be fantastic!! Also, with all the off stage pix’s and video’s posted, you girls are very lovable and fun to watch. I can’t wait for a DVD.

I love the story of Duane Allen hearing the Cuties, and being so impressed he kept in touch until a suitable time came to not only meet up, but perform with you! This is just too neat! I know you love it! Great pictures, they seem to show the Oak Ridge Boys having as much fun as the Cactus Cuties! Must have been one great time, knocked Andi right out of her sandals!! Love you girls and hope to see you live some day!

The Oak Ridge Boys were popular in my home when I was a youth. So cool to see you girls hooked up with them as they continue to bless people with their music, just as you girls are giving new blessings with your amazing music! Love all the vids at YT from your channels and the ORB’s channel that document this experience. And great photos taken here by Leanna too that share the event. Bless you all!!!!
